Local Support Terms
09/05/2024
These Terms ensure transparency and clear communication for businesses using the "Support Local Initiatives" feature to donate 1% of profits to a nonprofit or public organization.
Collllor donates 1% of the Plaform Fees per transaction directly to the chosen organization on the seller's behalf.
1. Eligibility of Organizations
Sellers on Collllor can donate to any nonprofit or public organization in the USA.
1.1 Nonprofits (501(c)(3) in the U.S.)
Donations to registered nonprofits are typically tax-deductible, making them a popular choice for both platforms and individuals. To qualify for these donations, nonprofits must meet specific legal requirements, such as 501(c)(3) status in the U.S.
1.2. Public Organizations:
- Sellers may also donate to public entities, such as schools, libraries, or government-funded programs. Although these may not always be classified as nonprofits, many public institutions are still eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.
1.3. Agreement with the organizations:
Once Sellers specify an organization to donate to, Collllor will:
(a) confirm the organization acknowledges their donation;
(b) ensure their willingness to participate;
(c) obtain permission to use their name in marketing or add a badge to the Seller's profile;
(d) collect necessary documentation for tax purposes (e.g., donation receipts).
If an agreement cannot be reached, we will ask Sellers to select a different organization.
2. Donation Commitment
1% of the Platform Fees from each sale will be deducted before payout, held in escrow, and then allocated to the chosen organization biannually.
3. Duration of Support
The donation commitment remains active until the seller modifies or cancels it. Sellers can update or switch their designated organization at any time.
4. Reporting and Transparency
Sellers can view and download their contribution records anytime in Settings → Support Local Initiatives.
To ensure that sellers can claim donations as tax-deductible, where applicable, the statement will display:
- A transaction history with details on how the 1% was calculated;
- The total amount donated on the seller's behalf;
- Information about the recipient nonprofit or public organization, including tax ID (if applicable).
5. Badge and Visibility
Collllor ensures the support badge is visible next to the company's name. Customers can view the organization's details by rolling on the badge.
6. Opting Out
Sellers can opt out of the program or stop supporting a particular organization by deleting the organization's name from the Settings → Support Local Initiatives page.
7. Legal Disclaimers
Collllor facilitates the donation process by collecting 1% of the Collllor Platform Fees, transferring the total amount biannually to the chosen organization. However, Collllor is not responsible for overseeing how the receiving organization manages or uses the funds.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring their chosen organizations comply with local laws.
