PU leather looks like real leather and has split leather backing. It is pliable and flexible; it doesn’t absorb water, easy to clean. CONS: easily tears and wears and can crack over time. Costs more than PVC. See sellers for texture variety.

Silicone leather: no harmful gas release, clean burning process, does not break down under UV light, no deterioration in cold temperatures, has no odors, maintains consistency and shape over time. Scratch resistant.

PVC leather has layers of fabric backing, topped with a foam layer, a skin layer, and then a plastic-based surface coating. It doesn’t absorb water, easy to clean. Compared to PU leatherette it is more durable and less expensive. Comes and many colors & styles (see sellers for the details).

Polyurethane (PU) leather (compared to PVC) is preferred when you need your item to look realistically leather-like, be pliable, and be flexible to work with. PU is softer than PVC. Breathable but with the risk of absorbing stains and other unwanted particles.

Man-made PVC leather, made out of fabric leather backing, topped with a foam layer, skin layer and a plastic coating. Less breathable than PU leather, but more durable and mostly used in upholstery and footwear.

The suede is made from the flesh side of the leather (goats, pigs, calves, and deers) Much softer than leather and not as durable. Should be treated for water resistance. More expensive than leather.

Top-grain genuine leather, made of a premium layer of cowhide. It's the least processed and most natural of leather, and the highest quality. Has an unaltered grain structure and is subsequently extremely robust.
